LIF Awards 2010

The Lighting Industry Federation presented their Energy Management and Innovation in Lighting Award Scheme.

Highly Commended "Indoor Lighting"

The PhotonStar™ installation at Kings College London, Guy's Hospital site featured high efficiency LED luminaires and intelligent luminaires with an LEDsmart control system to maximise energy savings. Total energy savings have been measured at 77%.

Highly Commended "Excellence in recycling"

All luminaires installed for the project at King's college were manufactured from >85% recycled materials and are fully recyclable with no harmful substances.

Finalist "Indoor Lighting"

The air side installation at Cathay Pacific's First and Business Class Lounge at Heathrow achieved a 63% efficiency improvement from 10.6W/m²/100lx to 3.96W/m²/100lx.

Commended Light Source of the Year - SmartWhite, 2010

SmartWhite intelligent biodynamic LED downlight boasts ultra low energy combined with excellent colour quality. Colour tuneable between 3000K and 6500K, Ra>90 across the tuning range.

Finalist for Low Carbon, 2011

The prestigious UKTI Business Innovation Awards 2010, which showcases the very best of UK innovation in science and technology, shortlisted nine companies for its three award categories in 2010 - Emerging & Nano Technology, Energy & Environment, and Digital Connected World.

In the Energy & Environment shortlist were organic waste recycling specialist GENeco, Perceptive Engineering - a provider of intelligent monitoring and control systems for the process industries - and PhotonStar™ for the SmartNemesis.

The CIBSE Building Performance Awards recognise, reward and celebrate the best performance, innovation and practice in building services. With energy efficiency, sustainability and low carbon now mainstream, the Awards recognised the best examples of actual low carbon performance in practice, allied to excellence in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of buildings of all types, as well as the development of people, products and processes in the building services sector.

Innovation Future Zone

Finalist - SmartNemesis

The KTN/TSB Innovation Future Zone featured the most significant building projects of 2010 at EcoBuild. The SmartNemesis by PhotonStar™ was the only lighting product to make the showcase final. The winning products were each displayed within the Innovation Future Zone at the biggest gathering of architects in the world - EcoBuild where over 50,000 delegates visited the show.

PhotonStar Technology Ltd. win Lighting Industry Award

UK company PhotonStar Technology Ltd. win Lighting Industry Award for second consecutive year, launching innovative new product range. 

For the second consecutive year, Southampton based PhotonStar Technology Ltd., part of PhotonStar LED Group plc, have been recognised amongst global competition for "Light Source Product of the Year".
